Silver Medal – 2018 Melbourne International Wine Competition
Our Mackenzie William is named after the eldest grandson of owners Trevor and Marilyn Harch.
Our Eden Valley Riesling is delicately hand-picked from our longstanding vines planted in the 1960s, 1980s, and from our cherished, deep rooted 1890s vines – thought to be some of the oldest in Australia.
Each batch of fruit bestows its unique attributes, creating quintessential Eden Valley citrus and minerality characters which we are so well known for, and a complexity that ensures our dry style’s impressive length of finish.
Our 2018 Riesling is alive with instant aromas of lemon, lime and blossoms, with a curious hint of talc, from the relationship that our oldest vines’ roots have formed with the minerals below ground. Gentle pressing of our Riesling fruit guarantees abounding citrus zest to enliven the palate, with fresh lemon and lime notes, followed by a squeeze of tangerine. Cool climate acidity brings this all cleanly together in an enviably long dry finish.
This dry style Riesling, when cellared carefully, will mature gracefully for at least 10 to 12 years, if not longer.
